Give all your worries and cares to God because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
That then also means, when we cast our cares on Him in prayer, He will show us what we need to do concerning any issue that concerns us. Sometimes He will speak through our day-to-day situations, we suddenly find the solution, other times as we pray with trusted friends, the answer comes concerning our cares. But whatever we do we are encouraged to bring the things that concern us to God in prayer.
We are not wired to carry heavy burdens, God did not design us so. Burdens are for beasts of burden, like the ox, cows, donkeys and so forth…These animals were used in ancient times to carry loads across the sea, the skies and on land. They are designed so and have the capacity without question.
Jesus says to you and me ‘Come unto me all you who are weary and who carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest’ Mathew 11:28 NLT
Then again in Jeremiah we read God’s promise that ‘I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint’ Jeremiah 31:25,
Psalms 107:9 For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things’
This reminds me of an old-time song
‘What a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer.
Today we face many various challenges and responsibilities, one thing I know is not to carry burdens we cannot handle. God will not carry for us, what we insist on taking and dealing with alone. To accomplish everything we were created to do, born for this we will have to drop extra responsibilities. The more time we get to study God’s word we discover Jesus spent lots of time with His heavenly Father in prayer to learn from Him and keep a vibrant relationship in pleasing the father more than the people He served. Always remember, when we carry too many responsibilities, we can lose focus on God’s best, and the christian journey can and will be tiring. I know that I cannot speak for others but to stand strong in faith and run my race I have to be wise in how much responsibility I carry, for many times, it’s really only about pleasing others than God.
Let us not be weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest.
